Kolb Distribution has expanded its production capacity at its Hedingen site with a new production hall. Together with GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group, the company implemented an integrated pallet conveyor system and a high-performance goods lift. The result: seamless connectivity between production areas, increased efficiency, and sustainable cost savings across operations.
Flexible and Reliable Material Handling Across All Levels
To support its growing production demands, Kolb needed to consolidate material flows from two production areas into a central buffer station. GEBHARDT implemented two nearly identical pallet conveyor systems to connect the existing and new buildings. The system enables smooth transport of various load carriers, including pallets and IBC containers, even across outdoor sections. This integration ensures consistent, reliable material flow throughout the facility.
The newly installed conveyor system is designed for demanding industrial environments. It handles payloads of up to 1,000 kg and includes integrated turntables and roller lift tables for precise alignment and flexible infeed and outfeed. Pallets are transported efficiently to a buffer station with multiple tracks, where they are temporarily stored and retrieved as needed – improving workflow and reducing manual handling.
A key component of the solution is the GEBHARDT ConVer 146 goods lift, enabling fast and efficient vertical transport between floors. With a load capacity of up to 2,000 kg and high-speed doors, the lift optimises throughput and reduces cycle times. Its modular, freestanding design allows flexible installation, including outdoor loading areas and indoor upper-level access – ensuring maximum adaptability for future requirements.
