GEBHARDT relies on international network as guarantor for growth and sustainability

Sinsheim, August 26th, 2020 The GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group – a company with a long tradition in development and production of complete intra-logistics solutions – understands the importance of a strong international presence as a vehicle for further growth. In recent years, the Sinsheim-based company has positioned itself as a globally active partner for innovative intralogistics solutions and Industry 4.0 applications and intends to expand this further. Thanks to its subsidiaries and strong sales partners, GEBHARDT is also well positioned in terms of customer proximity.

"Our headquarters are and will remain in Sinsheim. With the opening of the new industrial park in Sinsheim-Dühren in late summer this year, we are once again clearly committed to the region," says Managing Director Marco Gebhardt. "At the same time, we want to be close to our customers and their needs and generate further growth in other European countries and beyond.”

For this reason, the company has greatly expanded its international sales in recent years and today, with locations in Great Britain, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the USA, it ensures the desired proximity, opens up new markets, and takes advantage of the resulting opportunities for continuous and sustainable growth.

GEBHARDT subsidiaries – a short introduction

Great Britain – New Production facilities

"The last few years have been characterised by strong growth", says Terry Pullen, Managing Director of GEBHARDT European Conveyor Systems Ltd. "In addition to an increase in employees, we are particularly proud of the two new production facilities in Nottingham and the expansion of the portfolio, which allows us to also offer large AS/RS projects". Terry Pullen and his team have ambitious plans for the coming years, adding, "We are clearly pursuing a growth strategy, where we are relying on our high quality and innovation."

Austria – Reliability for 30 years

Günther Napetschnig can confidently be called an "old hand" of the company and has been working for GEBHARDT since 1990. With the takeover as subsidiary manager, he pushes the location in Götzis forward, especially in the areas of storage and retrieval machines, vertical conveyors, and transfer cars.

Poland – Our presence in the east

With Tomasz Boruta, GEBHARDT relies on an industry experienced Sales and Project Manager for the business in Poland. Following a number of successful projects, such as Rhenus in Goleniow, a further project is in the wings with the conveying and sorting solution for The Hut Group. Furthermore, the team around Tomasz Boruta is responsible for the service of all Polish GEBHARDT projects.

Switzerland – Increase awareness

Managing Director for the Swiss market and neighbouring countries is Kim Fabian Schneider. With 13 years of professional and industry experience, he effectively strengthens the location and supports customers looking to benefit from innovative warehouse logistics solutions. "With the broad GEBHARDT product portfolio, I would like to optimise the internal material flows of our customers sustainably, and increase their process reliability and efficiency", says Kim Schneider.

Denmark and Sweden – Scandinavia here we come

GEBHARDT considered the foundation of the subsidiaries in Northern Europe in 2018 as an important entrepreneurial step to be able to best serve the Scandinavian economic area. Commenting on the company's commitment in the North, Marco Gebhardt said, "With the GEBHARDT Nordic ApS in Denmark and the GEBHARDT Nordic AB in Sweden, we guarantee local support, after-sales service as well as the acquisition of new customers."

Arne Balling, mechanical engineer and subsidiary manager of the GEBHARDT Nordic ApS in Hobro, pushes the sales activities in Denmark together with his team. Two of the initial successes are the project at Dansk Retursystem A/S in Taastrup as well as a miniload system for Danfoss. With more than 20 years of experience in logistics, Arne Balling and his team are ideally placed to strengthen the Danish subsidiary and generate growth.

Sebastian Lundh is as sales and subsidiary manager of GEBHARDT Nordic AB responsible for the business in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The focus is on the marketing and establishment of GEBHARDT's conveyor and storage technology systems as core products for intelligent intralogistics. Not only through the project at Clas Ohlson AB, Sebastian Lundh looks back on a successful first 1.5 years. Since his start in March 2019, GEBHARDT has established itself on the Swedish market and the subsidiary adapted to the growing tasks in terms of location and personnel.

USA – Go West

Jim Kappele was appointed Managing Director of GEBHARDT USA Inc. in Brunswick in 2000. At the beginning of his activity, he dedicated himself in the function of the project manager to the handling of European customer projects in the USA. In addition, he was particularly engaged to the establishment and expansion of national customer relationships. Thanks to the close cooperation with GEBHARDT in Germany, Jim Kappele was soon able to celebrate first project successes with American customers. "The last years were characterised by strong growth, both on the sales and personnel side", says Jim Kappele. "Having started out on my own in 2000, we now have a total number of 25 employees and intend to continue to expand both in terms of personnel and premises in the future".
