The GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group is awarded the contract to implement the newly developed sorting technology – GEBHARDT SpeedSorter®, with a large packaging area and parcel conveyor technology with connection to the material flow system, PLC control at the e-commerce company flaconi GmbH. The new logistics centre of the largest German online pure player for beauty products will be built in 2021 at the Halle location on an area of 28,000 m2.
The portfolio of the online shop consists of over 850 international brands and 55,000 products. With the categories, perfume, care, make-up, hair care and accessories, flaconi covers all product segments from drugstore to natural cosmetics and premium. With the construction of the new Fulfillment Centre, flaconi aims to lay the foundation for further expansion with its sustained growth and flexibly meeting future market requirements.
"The GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group has convinced us with their tailor-made ideas for our new logistics centre: From the very beginning, they met our needs as a fast-growing retailer. The commitment shown by all those involved in this project exceeded our expectations", explains Dr Susanne Wruck, Head of Business Development & Operations Excellence at flaconi.
flaconi required to incorporate the strong growth into the intralogistics concept and thus offer a flexible and scalable solution. The scope of supply and services of the GEBHARDT products consists of conveyor technology, the new crossbelt sorter GEBHARDT SpeedSorter®, the GEBHARDT StoreWare® MFS and the PLC control.
This will create a large packaging area, which includes parcel conveyor technology and automated sorting technology as well as 274 workstations for customer-related order picking and dispatch. In future, more than 11,000 parcels can be processed and made available to the shipping department every hour.
For GEBHARDT it is the first customer who will implement the new sorting technology developed according to the crossbelt sorter principle – the GEBHARDT SpeedSorter®. "With flaconi, we have been able to win a market leading customer who has grown strongly in the last few years. We are very pleased that our product portfolio and the solution speaks for itself and that we can go this way together", says Fritz Gebhardt, Managing Director of the GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group.
Hans Kratz, Team Leader Sales Sorting Technology, adds, "that the decision to implement the GEBHARDT SpeedSorter® is ideal for flaconi because according to the "Mechanical meets Digital" principle, many advantages are combined, such as the Plug&Play technology, which takes over the quick installation of the completely pre-assembled modules, a robust drive system with an automatic chain tensioning and lubrication as well as Condition Monitoring. With this reliable system, flaconi will be able to react to new market requirements in the future to meet higher customer demands".
